Website Privacy Notice
How the e2mars.com website handles personal information.
1. What this notice covers
This notice explains how the E2MARS website at e2mars.com (the "website") handles personal information. It covers the main pages of the website only. It does not cover the E2MARS Rider App or Driver App, which handle more information and need their own privacy policy (see section 9).
2. Who is responsible
The responsible party under the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA) is E2MARS (PTY) LTD (registration number 2025/284214/07), trading as E2MARS. Physical address: 28 Torquay Close, Parklands, Cape Town, 7441, South Africa (registered with the Companies and Intellectual Property Commission). Telephone and WhatsApp: +27 64 477 4769. Email: info@e2mars.com.
Information Officer: Kelvin Osayemwenre, Managing Director, registered with the Information Regulator of South Africa. You can reach the Information Officer at info@e2mars.com.
3. What the website does and does not collect
- You do not need an account to use the website, and it does not ask you to register.
- We store your analytics preference in your browser. Google Analytics cookies are used only if you accept analytics.
- If you accept analytics, we load Google Analytics to measure page views, selected button clicks and approximate country, region and city. Google receives technical visit information and processes it under its privacy terms. We do not intentionally send enquiry fields to Google Analytics. Advertising consent remains disabled.
- Like most websites, our hosting provider keeps technical server logs, for example your IP address, the date and time of a request, the page requested and device or browser details. These are used to keep the website running and secure. We keep them no longer than is reasonably necessary for that purpose.
You may accept or decline analytics, or change your choice using Analytics preferences in the footer. Declining does not affect forms or access to the website. Hosting traffic statistics continue independently. Location estimates may be inaccurate and do not identify an exact neighbourhood or street address.
4. Contact forms and messages
When you submit a contact form, we store your enquiry privately on our hosting account and send an email notification to info@e2mars.com. We use your details to respond to your enquiry. If submission fails, you may choose to send the prepared message through your own WhatsApp or email app.
If you send us a message, we receive what you chose to include, for example your name, contact details and the content of your message. We use it to respond to your enquiry and to keep a record of it. We keep it no longer than is reasonably necessary for that purpose, or as the law requires. We do not use it for marketing unless you separately agree.
WhatsApp (operated by Meta) and your email provider handle your message under their own terms and privacy policies. Please do not send sensitive information such as bank details, passwords or identity numbers by WhatsApp or email.
You can also contact us by telephone, WhatsApp or email using the details in section 2.
5. Invitation links and account enquiries
The page at e2mars.com/referral/ opens when someone follows an E2MARS invitation link. It reads the invitation code in the link, shows it on your screen and lets you copy it. It does so inside your own browser: the page does not use cookies, does not use sign-in and does not send the code anywhere. As with every page, our hosting provider's server logs record the address that was requested, which includes the invitation code, so please do not put personal or confidential information in invitation links.
If you previously provided personal information to E2MARS, you can contact us to enquire about that information. If you used it and want to ask what we hold about you, or ask for access, correction or deletion, email info@e2mars.com.
6. Links to other services
The website links to Google Play, the Apple App Store, WhatsApp and our social media profiles. When you follow those links you leave this website, and the other service's own privacy policy applies.
7. Why we may use your information
We use personal information that you send us only to respond to you, to keep a record of the contact, to protect the website and our rights, and to meet legal obligations. We do not sell personal information. We share it with others only where needed to respond to you (for example the service you used to send the message), where the law requires, or where you ask us to.
Where a provider that stores information for us is outside South Africa, we will take reasonable steps to make sure it is protected as POPIA requires.
8. Your rights
Under POPIA you may ask us to confirm whether we hold personal information about you, to give you access to it, to correct or delete it, or to stop using it. You may also object to our use of it, and you may withdraw consent you have given (this does not affect what we did before you withdrew it). To do so, email info@e2mars.com. Our PAIA Manual is available at e2mars.com/paia-manual.
If you are not satisfied with how we handle your information, you may complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa (inforegulator.org.za).
We take reasonable steps to protect the information we hold. No method of sending or storing information is completely secure, and email and WhatsApp are not secure channels for sensitive details. If we become aware that personal information we hold has been accessed without authority, we will notify the Information Regulator and the people affected as the law requires.
9. Rider App and Driver App
When you use the E2MARS Rider App or Driver App, more information is processed (for example account details, location, driver documents, trip and payment information). That is covered by the privacy information for those apps and the terms shown in the app, not by this notice. The privacy policy for the Rider App and Driver App is published at e2mars.com/privacy.
10. Changes
If the website starts to use analytics, advertising tools, accounts or any other way of collecting information, we will update this notice before that starts and, where the law requires it, ask for your consent first. Updated: 10 October 2026.
